Dreamsleeves Log
This is a page where I'll keep a dream journal of all the times I've heard or tried to collect a version of Greensleeves while inside a dream, AKA, dreamsleevesing
HTML Background
3/4/2026
I'm at my computer working on Greensleeves.website. I'm having trouble with a certain part of the visual design - the background color keeps disappearing into white on one page and I can't figure out why.
Eventually, I find that there a bit of unneeded HTML near the bottom of the page in question. Once I delete it, the page rightfully regains it's expected dark-green luster. There was some gold on the site too (and there is!), and the word DELTA was featured somewhere.
Then I woke up.
Analysis: Well this happened because, right before I went up to bed, I emailed someone about some technical help with the site. My technical HTML background is limited and right now, this site is held together with HTML ducttape, so I guess I was thinking about that. And maybe DELTA because I thought about the game "Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater" recently?
Inopportune Christmas Bops
2/23/2026
I'm on the couch at home with my laptop, Greensleevesing, playing a Christmas album. It's got Greensleeves on it but I'm starting at the first track and it's a real bop.
As I'm grooving, I realize that it's the middle of February and maybe it's not the best time to be listening to Christmas tunes. I go ahead and switch to playing something else in Apple Music.
Then I woke up.
Analysis: I WAS checking out a new version of Greensleeves last night ("Blue Greensleeves" by Eduardo Abel Gimenez) but it wasn't that style and there wasn't a Christmas album played. It's true that my wife sometimes does request that the Christmas music stop when it's out-of-season so I have that sense in dreams as well, it seems.
Dreamsleevesing about dreamsleevesing
1/7/2026
I was Greensleevesing at home and then began watching an old bar sitcom based in the South-West of the US. Along with my wife, I was witnessing the sitcom as a live studio audience.
There were three characters, two of whom were speaking in Spanish and a third one who didn't understand. Then the third person looked down at the subtitles and read them, responding to the bar conversation and getting an audience laugh with the 4th wall break gag.
The main bartender then says to the guy "well why don't you kill me", so the subtitle-reader got a large fake fish and used it like a machine gun/missile. The bartender was knocked down in slo-motion as a subtle quiet version of Greensleeves played on guitar (Last of Us-esque?). I gestured to my wife, "is that...?"
I commented on how odd it was to encounter a Greensleeves in the wild so soon after Greensleevesing. Then I began writing down this dreamsleevesing experience so I could remember.
Then I woke up.
Analysis: I'm pretty sure the bar-sitcom setup came from thinking about Ted Danson in Cheers. Then I got sorta-lucid and realized I was dreaming about Greensleeves, which in turn makes me want to record the experience to tell my wife upon waking. I'm happy to report, I did just that.
Star Trek: The Final Absolution
2/?/2025
I was watching an obscure old Star Trek movie titled "Star Trek: The Final Absolution." It starred the original 60s Enterprise crew.
The opening sequence included an airy rendition of Greensleeves with some new lyrics, played by leprecauns sitting in the front row of a ticketed event. This film supposedly had brought back the idea that Star Trek movies could be about arguing about trade policy and such, without the need for big flashy on-screen battles to keep the viewer engaged.
Then I woke up.
Analysis: No idea what the leprecauns were about, but otherwise, this was me thinking about that common argument about modern-trek versus old-trek. I like pretty much all Star Trek. As usual, The Onion has a good riff on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02LgdXVkXgM
Live Remix
9/?/2023
I'm at a festival with a live music stage. I'm about to leave, but then notice that one of the upcoming acts are scheduled to play the following:
- A version of Greensleeves
- A version of Greensleeves (remixed)
- J.E.N.O.V.A.
- J.E.N.O.V.A. mash up with a famous medieval folk tune
So I was excited about collecting three new versions, only to find out that the first two were actually referring to a speedrun event on a level called Greensleeves.
Then I woke up.
Analysis: Just a grab bag of nerdy interests here, likely stemming from watching YouTube videos about video game speedrunning. The signage though, I think was inspired by this sign at a local fair (note the Baby Contest)

Rapid fire, unknown dates:
- I'm in a foreign restaurant with a varied background soundtrack, including Greensleeves. I comment that I’ve collected at least eight Greensleeveses from this restaurant already.
- I'm at a live performance, attempting to record the Greensleeves cover with my phone and failing.
